How To Manage Animal Health

A complete walkthrough of the Health module โ€” from your daily herd overview to logging treatments, running quarantines, routine checkups, and tracking every dose of medicine automatically.

1

See Your Herd's Health At A Glance

Head to Health → Health Overview to open your daily health dashboard. A single Herd Health Score tells you how the farm is doing at a glance, with cards breaking down exactly how many animals are Healthy, Sick, Injured, Under Treatment, Recovering, or Quarantined right now โ€” plus a Needs Attention row calling out anything waiting on a lab test, due for deworming or vaccination, or in critical condition, with anything overdue flagged in red. A live activity feed at the bottom shows the most recent entries from anywhere in the Health section, so you never have to go looking for what just happened.

2

Log Any Health Event In One Place

Every vaccination, deworming, treatment, injury, quarantine, and lab test is logged from Health → Under Treatment. Open any animal or calf, choose the type of entry, and fill in only what applies โ€” a diagnosis isn't required if you only know the symptoms so far, for example, and neither is an injury type if the cause is all you have. Mark an animal Sick the moment you notice something's wrong, and Mark Healthy / Recovered once it's back to normal โ€” this automatically closes out any treatments or injuries that were still open. A full, searchable list of every animal currently needing attention lives on this same page.

3

Change Status Or Start A Quarantine In Seconds

For quick corrections without opening a full entry form, Health → Health Status & Quarantine lists every active animal and calf with a one-click dropdown to update its status. The same page lets you start an isolation period with a reason, a start date, and where the animal is being kept, and shows everyone currently quarantined together with a single button to end it the moment they're ready to rejoin the herd.

4

Routine Checkups That Do The Follow-Up For You

Health → Health Checkups is built for the routine visit: log weight, body condition score, temperature, and heart rate, then pick an Outcome โ€” Healthy, Needs Treatment, Needs Deworming, Needs Vaccination, Needs Quarantine, Injured, or a Lab Test โ€” and the matching record is created in that same save, no second page needed. Choosing Needs Medical Treatment even lets you prescribe medicine right there on the spot, including something not currently in your inventory.

5

Medicine Dosing, Tracked For You

Prescribe a medicine and its first dose is given โ€” and deducted from stock โ€” the moment you save. Every dose after that shows up on an Active Medicine Schedule with a live countdown to when it's next due, so giving a dose on time is a single Give Dose Now click, with inventory and history both updated automatically every time. A course simply stops asking once its end date passes or it's marked recovered.

6

See The Full Picture, Anywhere You Look

Every health record you log connects back to that animal automatically. Animal Report rolls up farm-wide illness history alongside your most common diagnoses and most-used medicines, while each animal's own Profile keeps a complete Health tab and an at-a-glance Care Status badge. However you get there, the story is always complete and always up to date โ€” nothing to re-enter, nothing to keep in sync yourself.
