How To Buy And Sell On The Marketplace

A complete walkthrough of the Marketplace module — from seeing every listing you have for sale to creating a new one, setting location and transport, handling buyer inquiries, editing a live listing, and marking something Sold.

1

See Every Listing You Have For Sale

Head to My Marketplace Listings to see everything you've posted — a photo thumbnail, title, category, price, quantity available, and status for each one. Filter by Category (Animal, Feed, Equipment, Health, or Other) or by Status (Active / Sold) to narrow the list down fast. Nothing here needs admin approval — the moment a listing is created it's live on the public marketplace.

2

Create A Listing In Minutes

Click + New Listing, pick a Category, then either check "This is already in my farm records" to pull the title straight from an existing Animal, Feed, Equipment, or Health/Medicine record — or leave it unchecked and enter a title, description, price, and quantity freeform. Animal listings get extra fields for Sex, Breed Type, and Breed Name. At least one photo is required before you can publish, and a marketing video (up to 70MB) is optional — we may use it to help promote the listing further.

3

Location & Transport, Set Once, Reused Every Time

Leave "Use my farm's default location" checked and every new listing automatically uses the Country/State from your Farm Settings — uncheck it only when a specific listing needs a different location. Every category also has a Transport field — Arranged by Buyer, Arranged by Seller, or Negotiable — so buyers know upfront who's expected to handle getting the item there.

4

Every Buyer Inquiry Lands In One Inbox

When a buyer contacts you about a listing, it shows up on Marketplace Inquiries with their name, contact details, and message, plus a direct link back to the listing itself. Mark each one Read once you've seen it and Replied once you've responded, and filter by status to quickly find whatever's still waiting on you.

5

Edit Anytime — Add Photos, Swap The Video, Update Details

Open any listing's Edit page to update its price, description, quantity, or contact info, add more photos, remove ones you don't want anymore, or replace the marketing video. A listing that started out linked to a farm record still shows a read-only reference badge — editing here only ever changes the listing itself, never the original record.

6

Mark It Sold — Or Remove It For Good

The moment something sells, hit Mark Sold — it disappears from the public marketplace immediately, and Reactivate brings it right back if a sale falls through. Only use Delete when you want a listing gone permanently — Mark Sold is almost always the better choice, since it keeps the listing on record instead of erasing it.
